Read Pro Reviews. This lens is a bit snubbed, but it's better than me and probably better than many photographers. My biggest problem is holding the camera steady. For the EOS-M series, the question is: choose a faster EF-M 22mm prime lens with sharp sharpness if you can focus it, or use this more versatile EF-M 18-55mm lens, which may be a little faster when focusing and a little less sharp. You probably want both. I bought this used like new in an electronics cart and it's perfect. The price was right.
