I had a similar set many years ago and used it to sew peg loops back onto my tent. I needed something I could grab with pliers to pull the needle through the heavy fabric. Bought these as a replacement for the heavy sewing of men's clothing, bags, etc. outdoors. For example, with this kit you get different shapes and sizes. I also had to buy one for my wife who saw mine and craved it. She wanted him to put her keys back on. Curved needles were needed to get into the pouf and be able to pull it out to tie key rings to the spool. Of course she finds other tricky projects for that.
