I received the bottle and it has a #7 recycle symbol on the bottom. Please do not buy this bottle for your own sake. I'm trying to keep you and the people you care about healthy. Plastic #7 is the worst type of plastic available for food contact containers. It sucks what's in that plastic and you have no idea what you're putting into your body when you buy that bottle to drink water from. Please google "Plastic #7 BPA Free”. Here are the results. Code 7 is a revision. Code for BPA-containing plastics and should be avoided at all costs. Although codes 3 and 6 are technically free of BPA, the chemicals used to manufacture these products also pose a serious risk to our health. In summary, category #2, #4, and #5 plastics are im generally considered safe. Don't put them in the microwave, even if they're labeled "microwaveable." Plastics #1, #3, #6, and #7 should be used with varying degrees of caution, especially around food or drink.
