why all the fuss?

Now I'm sure I'll get some useless upvotes for this, but sometimes I wonder when people complain about problematic, incompatible hardware and software, the real problem is human error. On the other hand, I really don't see how anyone could mess up installing and using this drive. After reading many of the comments on this page before I bought it with some trepidation over a month ago, I carefully studied the documentation on the Iomega website. After a few hours of reading, I realized that all I had to do was plug in the drive, plug in the USB port, turn on the computer, and install the proposed software. It's that simple, despite what some would have you believe. The drive has worked well for me so far and has burned over a dozen CDs in both audio and data format at a max speed of 4x and although it's quite slow I use it mainly for backups and for the price (this is the Disc now available cheaply as a refurbished product from Revain) it was worth it. Also, there are no booths yet. Some people advise only using quality media for recording, although I tried an untitled disc and burned it with no problems. I mainly used HP media. Some people have pointed out compatibility issues with Toshiba laptops, so be careful if that's your system, but for those looking for a cheap external device, it's really quite hard to beat this product.
