Review on 📻 Uniden BEARCAT 980: 40-Channel SSB CB Radio with Sideband NOAA WeatherBand and Wireless Mic Compatibility by Jake Davies

This device is not a perfect scanner as other reviewers have pointed out, compared to some of Uniden's other flagship scanners this device is limited. This device is the perfect answer to my problem: how to nicely install and use scanner, CB and 2m/70cm radio in my Ram 2500. I could install any two but not three without opening up the dash and without installing equipment from above under the windshield. I didn't want to do it! In use, the scanner can be operated quite comfortably while driving; You don't have time or don't need to know the exact agency and channel type. It just works and works well. The CB is a full featured CB, only missing the CB channel scan feature to be near perfect (oh wait, I wish it had SSB too!). So: If you want the perfect scanner, buy the Uniden BCD536HP (it's one I replaced in my truck) - fully functional, complete information about what you're listening to and other features for discovering and monitoring new channels. If you want the perfect CB, buy the Uniden Bearcat 980 SSB CB (the CB I replaced) with weather, scan and SSB for more range. CB in your car and you're ready to trade some scanner complexity/functionality and some CB features for a relatively bulletproof, easy-to-use kit. Take it!
