I'm not sure if the problem I'm having is related to reflectors or how I'm using them. They come with a hole in the center and small nails to attach them to a wooden surface. I needed them on a parcel basket screwed to the tube of my village mailbox. I used small screws to attach the copper wire to the top front corners. When I went out to test them with my MagLite last night they didn't pop like most reflectors. However, they do not have a back panel like most reflectors. I'll try some foil or white plastic to see if they just need a backing. Regardless, I'll post an update. UPDATE: I downgraded my rating from 4 stars to 1. After experimenting with numerous substrates of different colors, my nighttime testing revealed that these blue reflectors simply have next to no visibility. I've tried but nothing gets them to work. If possible, I'll send them back and get my money back for the show.
