Replaced an old plastic patio light with this one. This is a good looking flashlight and appears to be well built. The only minor complaint I have is that there is a large gap between the glass and the center support bar. It's not very visible from below, but bugs can easily get inside. I installed a tighter washer over the glass to keep the bugs from getting through. Some reviews complained about the installation, but it's no different than any other flush mount I've installed. Yes, the mounting screws are long. , but again no different from any other light. When you raise the lantern you can mark the length of the bolt with a marker where to work with the nuts. Remove it once to adjust the screws to that length. You may have had a unique situation, but don't let that stop you from buying it.
