First of all, the picture on the internet is deceptive. Because of this, the product appears much larger than it really is. I thought it would be like a hairbrush in size but no such luck. In fact, it was only a few inches long. In terms of use, everything was fine. Maybe a bit wobbly and you had to press hard to hit the hair. But I wouldn't call it difficult. BUT (and this is a big deal), I don't think it's made for those with hair darker than a very light blonde. My daughter's hair is ash blonde/light brown and the color (we bought both purple and pink) barely came out no matter how hard I pressed. And it certainly wouldn't give her full coverage as you can see from the photos posted because the tiny little chalk pencil would have run out long before we even got anywhere close to that color on her head. instead using colored hairspray for her costume.
