Review on 💻 Enhance Your Computing Experience with the Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball Mouse - Ideal Computer Accessories & Peripherals by Ronnie Toups

Not suitable for essential tremor.

I bought this trackball mouse to use in bed at night with my laptop. This is a gaming laptop, so I tried using a mouse for FPS games and (without learning) it's almost useless for this application. I've been able to use it for exploration, walking simulators, and other games without flinching, and it works pretty well with them. This is a godsend for interacting with my employer's web interface. I have to fill out radial menus and checkbox forms for a living and this is great for that. The wireless receiver can be daisy-chained through a USB hub, freeing up other USB ports for peripherals such as gamepads and storage devices. It's currently plugged into a second USB port on my cooling pad, which I plug into one of the available USB-C ports on my laptop. I was a little surprised that this configuration works, but it works, so I use it. However, this trackball is not optimal for me. He is very precise, maybe even too precise for his ability. I am disabled and have essential tremor. I cannot keep my hand steady even when I lean on the device. That means when my thumb manipulates the trackball, it twitches a little across the screen. I turned the mouse sensitivity all the way down and it's workable, but it would be nice if there was a way to lower the sensitivity even further. The mouse acceleration is good for moving around the screen quickly, but I can't use it because my tremors send the cursor anywhere I want, even at the lowest sensitivity. I recommend it as a trackpad replacement that is more efficient. I wouldn't recommend this for the average user playing a more difficult game than a walking simulator. After learning, you'll be able to use it effectively for most tasks that don't require an immediate reaction. This device is well-suited for anyone productively manipulating interactive interfaces.
