I recently stumbled across the Fnatic Gear Duels while researching aiaiai's modular headphones. If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check it out here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LY2UKM4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 GREAT value for money if you considering that it's basically TMA. -2 headsets with extra ear pads and gaming mic cable. Basically, you're paying half the price for a REALLY beautifully made set of glasses that can be modified and adjusted over time. Well, as for the H05, I've had a great experience with a couple of watches out of the box. I immediately plugged it in and checked for firmware updates, but I had the latest version. I quickly tried pairing with my iPhone and it worked flawlessly. Then I put together all the tracks from my Fnatic set and listened to a few tunes. Doesn't sound like wired (on Spotify at least, I'll try it on Tidal soon and report back) and I'm guessing it's a Bluetooth 4.2 connection. it is comfortable. I can't figure out how I feel about the silicone headband being a leather type but I will say it's nice and supple and it seems easy to clean. While the nylon/composite headband is lightweight, it is by no means "cheap". feeling and it seems like it's really going to last. One of my big issues when buying headphones is that I have a massive head and in a way the headbands usually come first. I've gradually figured out what to look for when buying one (I'm a bit of an audio freak and have several pairs of high quality headphones) and can say without a doubt that this headband is similar to my Astro Gaming headset that I had. and has now been in use for about 10 years and works flawlessly. The controls could benefit from some iconography. I understand they're going for super minimal looks and as a designer I understand that, but as a user experience designer it's driving me crazy because it seems like form is a bit more important than function. This is a small point, and it's not that hard to "feel" the three buttons, but even enlarging the middle button or something would help. Additionally, I feel like the band is a bit wider compared to this one. I've had it and it's good for my big head, it's very high quality and I've had NONE of the issues I've seen with others in terms of connecting to multiple devices etc (currently it's with my iPad and my coupled). iPhone fired up and was even 90% charged Firmware updates may have fixed these issues, so check and update your device by following these instructions on the aiaiai website: https://aiaiai.dk/h05-informationI will come back and update this after i have some more time with it, but don't hesitate to ask questions.
