The lamp is advertised as an "industrial table lamp" and therefore has a modern design. I was surprised by the build quality and features. The base is heavy so it cannot be knocked over. The on/off/dimmer control doesn't feel as cheap as the others. It also comes with a lightbulb. (This is the first time this has happened to a lamp.) It's an Edison-style LED that dims beautifully. USB ports quickly charge your phone and headphones. I haven't tried the outlet, but I'm pretty sure it will work as long as it doesn't exceed 600 watts. The finish was great and the protective delivery was excellent too. Very happy with this purchase.
