I bought two of these, one for my mountain bike and one for my CX bike which I use for commuting, occasional singletrack riding and some highway riding and have not yet purchased the problem. My phone stays in place on any terrain. I also do BMX tricks so jumping up and down is common and my phone is still locked. The ONLY thing I noticed (which wasn't a problem for me) is that a thicker phone/device case can become problematic due to the height of the 'gripper arms'. I have a Pixel XL3 and a base case from Spigen that adds maybe 1/4 inch, which is about as big as you might need. Got a few compliments from some cycling friends (they are amazing). people who just feel special about their bike products/brands) about it - and how it costs so little for what you get. Great product and will be on every bike I have/will have in the future!
