Any product like this could cause a placebo effect. Are my fish really more colorful or do I want to believe that they are more colorful? Is it the algae I plucked from the aquarium lights that make them more colourful? What about my yellow cichlid continuing to darken to submit to my dominant blood parrot cichlid? Overall I trust this company and therefore I trust this product. Ultimately, I feel like tap water or filtered water lacks many of the nutrients found in this product. WARNING NOT SUITABLE FOR CRABS OR CRABS IN GENERAL DUE TO THE COPPER CONTENT. On the other hand, the copper keeps the algae at bay, which is a nice side benefit.
