These are not the most durable dog boots you can find but are the most comfortable yet for my 55 pound Old English Sheepdog with sensitive paws and claws that wear out quickly. I have tried many other brands and styles and these are the only ones he will wear without constantly trying to take them off. You stay on your feet. I have to adjust them regularly, but not so often that it interferes with our gait. They are not waterproof. I bought a spare pair after walking my dog about 10-15 miles on pavement and gravel (he doesn't usually need to wear them all the time for the boots to last). There were small holes. Depending on the condition of his legs, I can also use them as light protection for small holes. In his case, they were good for preventing his nails from wearing out too quickly on the hard surface of the cobbled paths. They last much longer on snow or mud. Shoes can be thrown in the laundry. The stitching and color remained intact and there was no noticeable shrinkage. I avoided the dryer and air dried just in case.
