Review on πŸ’ͺ High-Performance QNAP 4-Bay NAS/iSCSI IP-SAN | AMD R Quad-core, 10G-ready (TVS-473e-4G-US) by Darin Marshall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Need to replace my old Plex server.

I had a QNAP TS-451 that I bought 4 years ago and had a hardware problem. It still worked, but no more drives were showing up in bay 4. I contacted QNAP support for repair options. It turned out that a post-warranty repair would cost more than half the cost of a new unit and could take several weeks, so I figured it was time to upgrade. The TVS-673e had great reviews from every source I checked, and the Revain was "used-like new" for over $200 less than new. I realized it was covered by the original 2 year warranty and 30 day return policy so I ordered it. The device arrived and aside from the damage to the original QNAP packaging, the TVS-673e looked like it had never been unboxed. All accessories listed were still in their original packaging and the protective plastic sleeve was still on the front of the device. Installation and configuration was not difficult. and I just moved 4 disks from TS-451 to a new block and all my data was intact. The TVS-673e has some features that the old device didn't have and was working fine at the time of writing this article. For the home or small office, this is the perfect all-in-one device with high expandability. I have ordered many used items from Revain and have never received a non-working or broken item. In most cases, it was hard to tell they weren't brand new. Sometimes they weren't in the original packaging, but overall they were all clean and undamaged. With Revain's liberal return policy, that really isn't a risk. If you're looking to save some money this is definitely worth a look.
