Review on Beck Arnley 158 1071 Mass Sensor by Jacob Diego

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fixed stopping problem on my car

I had an issue with my late 90's Subaru Legacy which stalled and ran very poorly, starting about 30 seconds after the car started from cold and lasting about 5 minutes , after which the temperature gauge indicated that it had reached normal operating temperature. By the time the car warms up, the car is moving at about 20 miles per hour. A quick read on the internet and the manual revealed that the mass airflow sensor, which measures the airflow right after the air filter, was probably defective. I've tried a cleaning spray but to no avail. I understand that these sensors wear out about every 150,000 miles. Ordered it and it took about 10 minutes to install. Four screws, clamp and electrical connector. Don't poke it with a screwdriver, the sensor is fragile and you will damage it. The motor took about 30 minutes to adjust to the new sensor, but it's working great now. Can't compare it to other brands. The price was at least $50 less than what I would pay at a local store and I'm sure a lot less than the retailer. I saved myself a few hundred by doing this routine repair myself.
