My daughter is 3.5 years old, she is taller. We bought her the small size and it's a bit big for her but in a good way for her to grow into and hopefully use for a while. The material is soft and stretchy, as you'd expect from a swimsuit. Not too thick and not too thin. Blue is a good alternative to the typical pink that all girls wear. Overall, I'd say this is a well-made option for little dancers.
