I needed a replacement for an OEM remote that was consuming batteries every day. The first one I received came without papers, ie instructions and microphone function did not work. We tried to use Revain tech support and for some reason didn't connect. I don't think it was her fault. I ask for a replacement and it came the next day with instructions and yes they are critical. A few minutes after inserting the batteries and following the instructions, the remote worked perfectly. You have to connect the new remote control to the TV, which is not possible without instructions. It would be nice if the manufacturer put at least minimal instructions on the back of the remote control in case the instructions don't appear. In some ways, this remote control is better than OEM. I like the full size buttons more than the miniature buttons, especially the mute buttons and the 4 color buttons.
