This does not work for the Pontiac G8 GT.

Filter and gasket are well made, but the filter neck is too long and the lower support that rests on the bottom of the oil pan is also too long. This means it will not work for Pontiac G8 GT. I am amused by the return policy. Once you crack the transmission, you'll find that the filter doesn't work. What will you do in such a situation? I'm stuck at home I cut the filter with a hacksaw and a grinder. Do not purchase this filter if you have a Pontiac G8 GT or 6l80e transmission with a flat sump9.
