It is actually much lighter than the picture. It is very easy to adjust the size, just trim it with sharp scissors. This is a solid piece of hard silicon, not consecrated. To put it on or take it off your pet, pull on the end of the push button switch. It's pretty tight in there so it's holding up well. I think if it snags (gets stuck) on something if your pet pulls hard enough it can break free which would be good to keep it from choking. But I haven't tried it. Easy control at the push of a button. Three settings: fast blinking, slow blinking and no blinking (single color). The light is in the part of the switch that shines through the transparent silicone. The color is not blotchy at all. That way you don't have to worry about it bending and breaking. We have orange because our dog is chocolate and cannot be seen in the dark. The collar illuminates not only itself, but also a little bit around it. If I ever need it I will definitely buy it again. I don't know how that would work on a long haired dog like a German Shepherd, but it's better than nothing. I highly recommend it.
