Well they actually arrived the day my electricity went out due to a storm. (perfect timing) When I opened the box and turned them on, they worked right away! I have ordered 1 box of colored lights, 1 box of white lights and 1 box of large white lights. Everything worked straight away, which is very good. Then the next day I put them outside to charge and returned them the same night because my power was still off. They quit their jobs in the middle of the night, so. This morning I put them outside again to charge them. That night some of them worked and some didn't. I haven't given up on them yet because I really liked them and wanted to use them in my garden. So I decided to leave it off in the sun to charge. But I didn't think about that until the next day. It was very cloudy the day before so I'm guessing they didn't get much charge. Now I know it was cloudy charging them because they work great in my garden. I get so many compliments and only have one side of my garden next to my stairs. I had to order more lights to do my other side because I didn't have enough on either side. I recommend ordering some tent steaks when you put them in your yard to keep them in place. It rained tonight so I couldn't install my new lights on the other side so once I have the lights in my other garden I'll be sure to take some photos and post them with this review. They are very easy to use and if you don't untwist them immediately after putting them on they will tangle but are very easy to untangle. They're really bright for little ones like them and the price for two light strips is right. So I ordered 3 sets of white pears and 2 sets of colored pears. The only thing that isn't bright is the customers who complained about the light. If they were confused, it was obviously their own fault. And if they don't work, it's probably because it wasn't sunny enough where they were placed.
