I was looking for a very thin flat pillow to put under another pillow. on my shoulders but not so much that my neck hurts on my back as I sleep in both positions. The thing about memory foam is that it doesn't sink you in as much as a fluffier down pillow alternative. Annoyingly this pillow, although thin, was too firm and big for my needs and I returned it. But for those who just want it to be the only pillow for lying on their back or stomach, this should be fine.
