Review on Experience Seamless Clarity with BenQ Borderless Brightness GW2480 Monitor - 23.8", 1920X1080P, Blue Light Filter, Built-In Speakers, Flicker-Free, IPS, and More! by Adam Stevens

Great price for a basic modern 1080p monitor with a quality IPS panel

This monitor is great and makes a great second monitor. It looks good next to an expensive screen. If you're looking for an extra screen up to 27 inches, good luck. Retail stores are full of 22-24 inch 1080p monitors that look exactly like the ones that shipped with HP/Dell desktops in 2007. Most of them have huge frames. Most of them have an HDMI port. Most have a power supply. And many of them don't even have HDCP, so you can't watch Netflix on them. This monitor has a 100mm VESA bolt pattern so you can wear it on either hand. Requires a traditional power plug - no power adapter. It has HDCP. This is a good IPS panel. Black looks dark. I have slightly less glare than my more expensive LG screens. It has slightly smaller bezels than my other screens. And it has two HDMI inputs so I can easily use it as a second monitor for both my home device and my work laptop. The menus are easy to use and you can even set up shortcuts to place the three most commonly used settings on the first menu level. The speakers are worse than most - quite an achievement considering how poor the built-in monitor speakers are - but I don't care. The only minor annoyance is that you can't dim the light on the power button. But it's at the bottom of the screen, making it easy to cover with a piece of black tape. This, of course, partially blocks those amazing speakers. lol. This monitor is a 21.5-inch panel with a resolution of 1920x1080, i.e. 102.5 dpi/ppi (pixels per inch). The more you go, the worse it will look next to a higher resolution monitor. The other two monitors are a 38-inch LG Ultra Wide monitor with a resolution of 3840 x 1600 (109.5 dpi) and a 25-inch LG Ultra Wide monitor with a resolution of 2560 x 1080 (111.1dpi). sqrt (2560^2 + 1080^2) / 25 = 111.1 dpi 38" LG 38WN75C - sqrt (3840^2 + 1600^2) / 38 = 109.5 dpi 25" LG 25UM58 is also a good deal . It currently costs 50% more. than BenQ, the resolution is 33% higher. The frequency is 75Hz, but I think the BenQ might have a better response time when you play it. And the 25-inch LG has a 75mm VESA bolt pattern and power adapter.
