I should have learned a lesson from all my years of fixing (read: reluctantly deciding) some weird HP crap. I've heard rumors that they've changed their approach and started making quality PCs again. Basically I was told the truth with some caveats. Yes, it's a great value when it comes to base paper performance for the price - almost a win-win deal. If you assembled it yourself you wouldn't be able to do it for this price. Then HP happened. doesn't matter now) and OWN POWER SUPPLY. WHY? Just to be difficult? Reduced repairability? I wanted to increase the power (small 200 watts) to power a modest graphics card and I CAN'T. 2) If my previous reason only seemed special to players, then it isn't. The built-in 8 GB DDR4 RAM is single-channel, which significantly reduces performance compared to dual-channel. There are two dim slots so maybe this is done so you can upgrade it? But then I don't know why they decided it should be upgradeable but the PSU shouldn't be. Don't get me wrong, this is very good! But if I needed something that I couldn't maintain or update, I'd go for the all-in-one. It would at least have the ability to be a monitor too. For office/work tasks, it's great! Now I even use it in the office (because it didn't suit me anywhere else). Buy, but be aware you'll be stuck with it for the most part, and beware of the HP curse!
