I bought this for my wife's VW but also tested it on my Tacoma. Everything worked on both machines. It is easy and convenient to use. Now she can leave her phone in her pocket or purse and enjoy all the great features of CarPlay without connecting it to a network. like a disc! I would give it 5 stars but there is a noticeable lag when interacting with the phone through the car radio. For example, when you select play/pause or the next song on your radio, there is a one or two second delay before the song changes. To me, this isn't a deal breaker, just something to be reckoned with when using it. Otherwise it works as advertised. Music runs smoothly and sounds good, GPS navigation and other apps are accurate and timely.
