This looked like a good solid mount. However, if you use it in the rain, the connection at the base will short out if water gets in. It is not weatherproof. The SWR went through the roof and destroyed my radio. I took apart the magnet mount to see what went wrong. The connections are not soldered at all, but simply pressed against the antenna connector. The base is not sealed and water enters the antenna short to ground and the direct short between the center wire of the coax and the outer shield of the coax. This bracket ruined a very expensive radio. Be careful when using this mount in inclement weather.
