Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming Laptop with AMD Ryzen 7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti by Jeff Warne

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for money with some caveats

This is my third Legion 5 laptop. I got the first one from Walmart with the following specs: 4600H Ryzen 5, 120Hz 250nits screen, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD and only GTX 1650ti. My second was the same but slightly cheaper than what was sold by Lenovo which had the same screen, GTX 1650 and 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD. I chose Revain as it has a GTX 1660ti and a better screen at 144Hz and 300 nits of brightness. This is definitely a much better value for money and will be more future oriented than the previous 2 laptops. The 1660ti is an 80-watt option that's good for 1080p gaming on the go. This model had a bug with the keyboard backlight refusing to turn on with a key combination. This was fixed with a recent BIOS update from Lenovo. As you can see from my screenshots, Lenovo Vantage software is a simple software for optimizing your laptop that allows you to overclock your GPU only when performance mode is enabled. You can also increase the screen response time, Jarrod Tech's video shows the difference and I would recommend enabling this feature. The screen also has a yellowish tint when the screen comes out white, a slight annoyance I'm dealing with. Fix in Radeon settings with color settings. The screen can be used outdoors. I took this photo at sunset with no direct sunlight. Battery life is decent as it's only 60W. The best you can get is 4 hours if you use it conservatively. I like the keyboard, a fine balance of general typing performance and satisfying gaming. A white backlight is also preferable to the RGB version. The temperature is below 70 degrees Celsius during the CPU stress test. Also, the temperature of the 1660ti on my device is around 60 degrees Celsius. I would recommend this laptop to anyone, especially on sale or in a nice open box. There are many reviews on YouTube that can help you explore this laptop. A solid buy for 2020 with a Ryzen processor.
