Forget single-use consumables - they work great!

Before I bought reusable nursing pads I did a lot of research, talked to other moms, read online reviews etc to make sure the product worked. For the first three months after the birth of my son, my body was subjected to the illusion that I was going to have twins and that I was going to absorb pretty much everything. Reusable pads worked well if I changed them several times a day. However, they kept piling up and I hated how our wastebasket was filled to the brim with them. It seemed such a waste. In the end I decided to try Charlie Banana, Fuzi Bunz and TL Care Pads. The big difference in price between TL Care and the other two is for a reason: Charlie Bana and Fuzi Bunz pads really work! They're big enough to easily cover my F-sized breasts at the time and were more absorbent than disposables. Both brands use the same fabric as cloth diapers, so the inside wicks moisture away from the body, while the outside has a waterproof lining. TL Care pads, on the other hand, were much smaller, plain cotton, got wet and stayed uncomfortably wet until they hardened and gave off a cheesy smell. They were much easier to soak. That's not to say I rarely got soaked in CB and FB, but it was far less often. And I wouldn't dare go public without either of these two brands. All in all a great investment! Saved money and got a better product.
