This system is great for ages 5-95. The simple game allows kids to play however they want. They have team mode (red vs. blue) or free for everyone. You can also play in mixed mode, which will come in handy for younger players. You can be on the same team as another sibling, but everyone else is free for everyone. The gun pings constantly, which is a little annoying, but also speeds up the game because you can't just sleep on the toilet. ;) You get 8 lives and 10 shots between reloads. Another person said you need headphones. It is not true. Headphones are optional. Without it, the voice only goes through the speaker in the gun. The headphones also play dramatic music. Each requires 3 AAA batteries. We played probably 5 hours and we still have the first 3 batteries. In general we are very happy with them.
