Review on πŸ”© Universal Aluminum Oil Catch Can Reservoir Tank in Baffled Black Finish by Ruien Polish by Jeff Hall

Good product Well built - be prepared to replace the hose; this is garbage

This is an oil separator. It's hard to say that I love him. I don't want to sleep with him. But so far I'm satisfied. it works as advertised; I'm assuming it's been installed for about a week or so and it's doing its job. The only thing I added was some aluminum scraper pads to keep oil from getting into the exhaust port; and minimize internal filter clogging. I had a unique situation where I needed to capture the mucus clogging the PCV system to determine where the mucus was coming from. Of course, the only place I could install it was on the opposite side of the car, so none of the tubes were connected; which led me to make my own out of a 1/2 copper pipe that I kicked. (And no, the red hoses aren't rubber, they're silicone.) Anyway.1. Build quality is good, especially for the price2. The fit and finish is very good, all parts fit well together3. I tried to use the hose that was sent with the garbage and it melted as soon as the car warmed up. Of course, the piping runs right over the exhaust manifolds, so they get fried a bit. Generally please. Not 5 starts because I don't want to sleep with him; and the supplied hose is crap! Recommendations for deploying silicone-based tubing. I would spend an extra $10 for a silicone hose - something that works. I would also put a net in the bowl to trap the shmoo and try to keep the shmoo away from the vent filter.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Useless functions
