After recent falls, I checked consumer reports and then bought two handrails: this 11.5" handrail from Change Lifestyles and a 16" handrail from another Manufacturer. I first rubbed the tile with rubbing alcohol to remove any soap residue. The second rod fell off after a few days. This pole of change lifestyle stays in place and the contact stays strong and solid. So I bought a second pole which I placed on the outside edge of the shower to make getting in and out of the shower easier. As other readers have pointed out, I didn't expect those suction cups to be able to support all my weight. However, they are excellent as a balancing device. Do not place suction cups over grain. I wipe them off after every shower and check them before every shower. Eventually I can install permanent handrails, but until I'm sure of the location and type, this is a good way to test your likes and needs.
