Use the sharp end of a can/bottle opener to remove the lids/caps which are also tight. Although it works.

I don't like scratching the floor when I move the bed. I didn't like how tight the lids were, but I used a manual can/bottle opener to pry them off and they work. There are hardly any position changes when turning the locks on and off, it's hard to tell if they're on or off, you could give them a little more.
