Review on EATON PJS3W Arrow Screw Plate by Richard Counts

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expensive but better design than Lutron

I have tried both brands. And Eaton has the best design (see why below). I just wish Revain had more of their screwless switches and pluggable configurations. Given the exorbitant cost of each, I felt compelled to express my disappointment with the Lutro's design. Lutron screwless switch plates are not large enough to cover a typical drywall hole to accommodate a junction box. This means that after installation you will leave gaps around the panel. Usually they're not serious gaps, but they still look bad. Lutron was able to solve the problem by increasing the size of the panels by a quarter of an inch in each dimension. Eaaton plates are slightly larger. There is another problem with the design of the switch plates. Specifically, the top panel mates with the back panel, leaving a tiny open joint. This is not a problem when laying the slab, but over time dirt and dust will accumulate in this joint. With a better design (like Eaton's product) the top panel would completely overlap the bottom panel so the joint would be at the wall and not between the panels.

Cons
