I postponed my review because I noticed that the underside of the base/shelf is aluminum. Very thin aluminum. And since I haven't sat on it much, it took about a year before I started noticing any problems. Then one day I sat down and the inevitable happened: it broke. The base is held in place by a VERY thin and very cheap aluminum ring welded on with tacks. That thin aluminum ring broke and now the thing is 100% useless. Now that it's broken I can see the broken parts much better and there's no way this chair could be built to last. ALL base materials are cheap and cheaply MADE, assembled with minimal effort. So heed this warning. If you want chairs that look nice and nothing else, then great. If you want to USE them, your best bet is to look elsewhere, or at least get good home insurance. This chair will break.
