Doesn't work well for Inverter

I don't recommend the device. I bought this to provide backup power to my sump pump in case we lose power during a storm. When I got the first one it was dead out of the box. Won't turn on, no light, nothing. Returned for another. The second seemed fine. After making the necessary power connections to the battery and home grid, I got all the lights right and checked the AC outputs with an AC tester. But further testing revealed other problems. When simulating an AC power outage by tripping a circuit breaker at home, I noticed that both AC outputs of the device had an open ground. I also used my dehumidifier to test the unit under load, and when I simulated a power outage, about one in five times I got an "inverter fault" and the dehumidifier shut down. I called their tech support and they told me that open terrain is the normal condition for the unit when no air conditioning is on. They also told me not to use a dehumidifier for testing as it deals with "sensitive electronics" and not a pure sine wave inverter. Technical support assured me that everything would work right away. Well it isn't. During the first good rain, I again simulated an AC power outage by turning off the circuit breaker in the house and waiting for the drain pump to start. EVERY time the pump tried to start the inverter unit, an inverter fault alarm was generated and the pump would not start. My basement would flood if there was a real power outage. I returned the second block and bought a different brand.

Pros
  • Inverter
Cons
  • I don't know anymore
