This headlamp is great for administrative tasks while diving, such as checking records. If you really want to explore and view the underwater scenery or anything else that's beyond arm's length, you still need a handheld flashlight with more lumens. However, this head-mounted flashlight allows you to use both hands to illuminate what you're doing without having to hold the flashlight (essentially frees up both hands). Please note: - You will blind anyone you are looking at if the flashlight is on. - The O-rings that attach the flashlight to the mount wear out quickly. Keep plenty on hand. Your mask will be very heavy with this flashlight and if you dive from shore a good wave can take your mask off your head if you are not careful. If you don't want to use a new battery after each use, buy a set of good batteries. Be sure to secure the mount to the mask with at least two small cable ties.
