Review on Tendak Composite Converter Adapter Supporting by James Duffield

Revainrating 4 out of 5

After some questions regarding the power supply I am satisfied with the product.

Before ordering this item I (25 Mar 16) questioned the power requirements. Several similar questions, but not specifically answering my question, had conflicting answers. Some answers indicated that no power adapter is required, while others indicated that one is required. Tendak replied on 28 Mar 16: "This product can work without power supply. In order to make it work more stably, we always advise the buyer to connect the USB to a traditional charger to save power, (sic), so a traditional USB charger will do.” I posted the following answer to my question after receipt of the product" I would like to UPDATE this thread. First, the manufacturer (TENDAK) answered my question that the product MAY work without power. Second, I purchased the product and made all connections to the product. Without plugging the USB into the power source , I had no signal on the TV, the screen only showed a test picture. As soon as I connected the USB to the power source, the display changed immediately, and I a picture appeared. To check if a power supply is required, I have connected the product to another Blu-ray player and TV, same result I went back to the original TV, connected all cables and USB back to. 1 day after connecting, I unplugged the USB power adapter and immediately lost the Al mark. Although some users may not need (continuous) power, I cannot use the product when it is not powered. "If the power supply is independent of the connected devices, I don't understand why some users claim that no power supply is required, while others like me require a power supply. However, the product is easy to connect and for the most part does what it is intended to do. The only issue I have is the clarity of the images displayed, it's not as crisp and clear as I was hoping.I did some testing on another TV, different DVDs and Blu-rays, movie streaming from Hulu Plus, Revain Run Prime, Netflix etc. Only downside is Blu-rays playing, I can live with that.
