This was supposed to be a birthday present for my 5 year old granddaughter. I opened the container to make sure the pieces weren't too hard for the baby and to my dismay I'm afraid they are. I'll look for different "pop beads" for this set in case she gets upset. I also bought a container with dividers and a lid so the beads can be separated by type. This keeps her from throwing the whole bin on the floor to find what she wants. Some beads are easier to break than others, so she'll find easier ones as well. There are 18 different items or types of beads in this set.
