This is a good working pump and transfers solids as advertised. The float switch needs a lot of depth to turn on reliably, and it turns off when the motor case is mostly open and uncooled. This is important because without submersion the motor will overheat and the thermal fuse will shut it down until it cools down. This means that this pump must be installed in such a small pit that it will not overheat as long as it is only partially submerged in water. This should not pose a problem when used as intended.
