These colors are very transparent. You'll get the best results if you use the paint as an enhancement to a base coat. Some of the colors really shine when applied over a black base coat, others get swamped by the black base coat and do better over a light base coat. I've included pictures of a sample sheet I painted to get an idea of what the colors do. They shift colors based on how the light hits them. the second picture is held up to catch the sun, the first is just flat. The third picture is a gecko painted with the electric plum color over black.
