This model is very difficult to assemble. I've made other (easier) ones and thought I was ready for this one. The biggest benefit is to ensure that the mechanisms work at all levels. I thought I could solve the problem of the base gears getting stuck when driving, but I didn't. After the elastic was wound it didn't snag at all so I tried to snap the model back and the elastic (with no way to release the tension) broke half of the model with toothpicks. My fault, not the models. Using lots of wood glue I assembled it as best as I could and it looks great. It just doesn't do anything because of my fundamental confusion. Also the last few pieces are very tight so if you make a mistake it will be very difficult to remove those spacers so keep that in mind. I can try another one with what I know now because it's a very cool and interesting model. The technical aspects are very impressive.
