Various Noses: Home Accessories

This is an adorable incense stick. It seems that the chemical receptors in our noses are actually different. I've read quite a few reviews of this incense so far (here and elsewhere) and many people describe it as delicate, gentle, even sweet. . . And another person who lives in my house seems to experience it that way. He says it's one of the thinnest incense sticks in our collection, and sometimes says he doesn't feel a thing when it's burning. He describes what he feels as ordinary sandalwood. On the other hand, I find this fragrance to be the strongest in our collection. We've had the box for a few months now and the smell has become unpleasant to me over time. But when I first started burning these sticks I was so surprised! I sense a pungent or astringent that I think may be herbal medicine. This element, to me, overshadows any sweetness that may be present and almost overwhelms the sandalwood. It is very difficult for me to believe that other people do not feel this. He really dominates. I've learned to appreciate the complexity of a fragrance and now really enjoy the herbal medicinal elements. But I would never burn more than one stick at a time. . . at least not in our small apartment!

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Sad packaging
