This particular unit doesn't handle particularly heavy items but is great for medium sized boxes etc. The tray is fairly sturdy but I wouldn't lift it up in the fridge with it or anything over 70 pounds. The wheels roll smoothly and the grip feels solid. Easy to fold and store. Turns well. The fine on the stairs for items is around fifty pounds.
