I had a problem with active x1 USB expansion cards on my computer and this solved it by serving as a 3.0 jack hub on my motherboard. . You won't magically get another 5Gb/s USB controller and the bandwidth that comes with it, but you can make the most of the motherboard controller you already have by adding powered ports to the back of your PC connect any front device to which it may already be connected.
