I bought this for use in a high end custom gaming assembly and it has performed well! I've used custom software to measure my PC's power consumption and even at the maximum advertised power it runs like a champ! However, I found this to be about 100W overkill if you only use a GPU like me (I have an MSI Radeon R9 390 OC Gaming Edition) unless you overclock it and your CPU (Intel Core i7 6700K in my case) . ), this slightly increases power consumption. The GQ version is a bargain because of all the protection/loss prevention features, like surge protection and built-in surge protection (though not as good as the original!), under-voltage protection, and so on. . Even during gaming sessions, I can't tell if the fan is running because it's so quiet. The fan is set to idle when the total power consumption is less than 300W, and turns on automatically when the power consumption exceeds this value. In general, an excellent power supply! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good power supply!
