I first bought these pants in a size 16. I took advantage of the free return and exchanged it for 14. Sizes: The size chart says the pant is a size 16 for waists from 27 1/2 to 28 inches. The tag on the pants says the waist measurement is 29 inches. Her height is 31 inches. The chart says the inseam should be 30. The pair I bought was just over 31 inches. The size 14 pants have a waist size of 27. They measure 28 inches in waist and 30 inseam. Rating: I love the look and feel of the pants. It is very difficult for my son to adapt. It has a boyish waist and a masculine inseam. While 14s are a little big in the waist, he said they're a little tight in the back. My son is 19 and wants to wear them to work. If he was 14 and running all over the place I would pick 16th and use a belt. One last note, these pants have a hook-and-eye closure. But they also have a button sewn on the outside (so just for show). Both of my twins thought it was really funny. I see no reason why it can't be removed. Edit: For such an amazing price I bought a size 18 pair for my other son. The label says waist size 30. Measured 31. The inseam was almost 32.5 inches. These pants fit my son very well in waist and length. But like his brother, he found them too tight. My general conclusion is that these pants are great for the boy (whom they are intended for) but not roomy enough for the male body. Instead, we're keeping the Lee Men's Total Freedom Pants, which I also bought from Amazon.
