Use them (with sun hats) as sun protection, don't put TOXIC chemicals on your kids! Fits my little 7 year old frame. Excellent. However, it will grow out above the ground. The bottom covers his knees when he's standing and does a good job of protecting him from the sun when he's out of the water. The top fits like any rashguard/swim shirt. Overly flexible tops are DANGEROUS and ineffective for swimming (bottoms just stay pressed against the skin most of the time, but wide-sleeved arms moving forward to make a stroke create a "parachute" effect), so I'm glad that the designer has chosen a size for use in the water. .
