I tried three calibers before finally being satisfied with this one. The first was a typical manual type replacing a similar one that had lasted for years. Obviously they don't make them like they used to because it was close to 20 pounds (!) or 10 pounds depending on your mood. And with a good filling. For the second round I tried a slightly more expensive, solid reversible pin gauge, made of metal with a tilted head and two plugs. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't seal anything well. threw it away For the third round, I tried an inexpensive round analog gauge (I forgot the brand) with a short solid stem (no tubing). Getting a good fill was an accident, and when sealed the readings were inconsistent. It's going to be 5 pounds on the same tire anyway. Another snack in the garbage can. So I started searching here and reading the reviews. I have this sensor and I like it. It seals every time without a single whiff of air. The short tube makes it easy to find the right angle and the head is actually designed to fit the tires. I compared it to a friend's reliable sensor and both showed the same results. Finally!
