Review on ๐Ÿšฟ Metaland 7-in-1 Drain Auger Hair Catcher and Clog Remover Cleaning Tools for Bathroom, Bathtub, Toilet Drains by William Rothstein

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works fairly well but may not be suitable for all types of drains.

I had a sink that drained slowly and normally. I would remove the siphon by hand and remove the dirt that has built up since the drain was last cleaned, but this time I decided to try this kit instead. . Since I cleaned the drain like a manual drain plug, I had to remove the plug from the drain pipe to insert these tools into the drain pipe. The hair removal tool seems to work well by snagging on hair and downspout edges so it was a little tricky to use, but I could see it would be useful for shower drains in the future. Then I used a mini snail and got it in and out of the trap as far as I could and swirled it around a bit in the sewer to break up the debris slowing the flow. As I did so, I turned on the water and noticed the drains begin to clear. I'm not sure how clean the siphon and pipes really are, but the drain works much better. If the clog was deeper in the pipes, these tools wouldn't help much. The tools were a bit tricky to clean as the auger is a tight spiral of metal so hair and dirt get caught between the metal threads when you bend it. The hair removal tool gets stuck in the wedges of each hair hook, so it's also not easy to clean, but it is possible. Time will tell how long this drain stays clean, but for now I'm happy with the time savings. It is necessary to remove all objects under the sink and dismantle the siphon to clean it.
