Review on ROKR Wooden Puzzle Building Mechanical by Dave Knain

Bought this for my 8 year old son hoping he would put it together with some adult help. It's definitely an improvement over the Lego set. But a great opportunity to learn how to follow directions, get organized and work with a "project manager". The wood is strong enough, but it's easy to overdo it with the effort required to hold the pieces together. After all this was assembled, my overly enthusiastic son broke the grip on the hilt (part of the hilt is layered rather than solid). I was only able to remove the broken piece and am hoping to glue it back together. No demands, you just have to know your limits with this type of wood.
